Reviews
We arrived without a reservation and were seated at the bar. It was a little cramped so reservations should be made. It was so worth it. The Short Rib, Stilton whimsy and creamed leeks were outstanding. The portions were on the small side but so delicious. The shared Eccles cake with Stilton cheese was also delicious.
We grabbed a quick bite here with a large group doing a walk in right at the opening. The staff was super accommodating even moving umbrellas to help block out some sun. Our cocktails were across the board creative delicious and fun between the 16 of us we tried everything and everyone was passing drinks up and down the table. The menu changes constantly so no specific recommendations but certainly try a few of their specialties. Food wise the burger was a stand out one of the best in the area. We also had a salted fish dip that was hard not to eat every bite myself instead of sharing. We sat in the back patio and while not anything special was very comfy and great for our large group. Overall this was one of the best places we tried and it beat the pants off several of the more touristy locations.
what a lovely little spot in nola! the service was fantastic, food was good, and drinks were amazing. i also had fun looking through the cocktail books they had around as decor and found some lovely postcards/notes inside that added lots of personal charm to this place. this really is a jewel of the south!
We had a fantastic experience for dinner.
They are obviously best known for the cocktails, but I think the unique food is overlooked. The menu is certainly unlike typical New Orleans restaurants, but our waiter was very knowledgeable and patiently answered our questions. He recommended the haggis, and it might have been the best bites of the entire dinner. The oysters, short rib, and the turnips were all great as well. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and dessert.
If you want a really great cocktail in the Quarter, come here.
My husband and I have been fortunate enough to come to Jewel twice. They always have great cocktails that are always changing. The bartenders are clearly talented and do a great job. We have also enjoyed some small snacks as well. A wonderful spot for a cocktail. We look forward to coming again on our next trip.
And for being one of the Top 50 bars in the world and winning the awards they have, the prices are really low. Take advantage of this!!!!
I came to this place because it appears on North America's 50 Best Bars list. In my opinion... -and I repeat- IN MY OPINION the drinks are quite average... I am a person who enjoys trying cocktails in all the places I visit and the truth is these drinks did not surprise me at all. If you come to visit based on that number 5 on that list, keep your mind open.
We came here a few times. We love a highly touted cocktail program and this is the spot in New Orleans. The bartenders were so knowledgeable and kind and the space felt really intimate. The cocktails were great, I can't see myself going to NOLA and not stopping in here.
We stopped here for a cocktail on a Saturday night, and it was packed. There were no seats at the bar, nor was there a table available, but we were able to grab a drink and sit out front. While waiting, a large party left, so we were able to sit in the courtyard.
The cocktails were delicious. The staff were super friendly and professional. The music playing was perfect. It was a whole vibe. I hope to go back for a bite to eat one day.
